AstrologyBy Jade Emory BLESSINGS IN DISGUISEAstrological charts can be calculated for events, not just for births. The chart for the Hawaiian earthquake of October 15, 2006 showed not only possible causes, but wonderful surprising effects. As for causes, the quake may have been an inadvertent secondary influence of the recent nuclear test in North Korea, not because of the size of the test, but because of the seismic geological location of it in relation to Hawaiis volcano. The Sun was conjunct both Mars and Venus, as well as several other
bodies in the sky in the 12th house of oceanography. The fact that the
quake centered so close to land of the Big Island actually prevented
the expected tsunami from developing. But so many blessings were noted as soon as it occurred. It was a Sunday morning, not a weekday when kids were on their way to school or the workforce was in rush hour traffic. Hawaii, famous for its aloha attitude, surely displayed it at every traffic intersection despite the complete power outage and the subsequent lack of traffic lights. The power outage itself lasted only a day or less, sparing many homes and businesses great losses. Homeless people, more experienced with lack of electricity, running
water and comforts taken for granted by their housed neighbors, were
the first to share batteries, food and water with others in need. An earthquake shakes things up, shakes things loose, shakes negativities off. Interviews with people in the aftermath of this earthquake revealed that blocks to financial solvency were suddenly released (Jupiter opposite Admetos), trivial resentments in families dissipated (Moon opposite Ceres), and more time was spent together instead of chasing meaningless worldly indulgences (Saturn conjunct Part of Fortune opposite Neptune). More responsive humanitarian financial outlets were elicited after the earthquake, not just that which was required from the government, but from churches and from individuals of means toward those without (Pluto opposite Hades). Unselfishness prevailed over selfishness. Its about time. Confucius' commentary to Hexagram 18, called Work on What Has Been Spoiled in the 3000 year old Chinese oracle I Ching said, Love must prevail over the beginning and the end in order to heal what has been spoiled. That was assuredly indicated by the Leo Midheaven of the earthquake chart, as Leo rules the capacity to love with loyalty.
